How to deal with sinful families

June 12, 2006

What can a woman do, if her family are obstructing her path to Islam. They are non-Practicing Muslims. How does she fulfill sunnat ir rahim and follow Islam if there is a great deal of difficulty in doing so. Can a sister just break ties, live on her own and try to get closer to Allah. It is becoming difficult to maintain ties of kinship when there is continuous evil, backbiting, fitnah, inciting me to disobey Allah, etc., Is there a dua to make when one faces such great difficulty? June 12, 2006

Click here to get a printable version Question : A lot of people are justifying to one of our new Muslim sisters who just accepted Islam that she can talk to men, especialy muslim men as long as the niya is ok and they talk about Islam,I have read the answers to a few of similer topics but if their can be some clearer textual proofs from this question scince this sister does not have the proper proofs from any Hadeeth to go against the justifications they use,,can you bring clear evidances from the sunnah and the saluf-us saleh to once and for all close this subject to the sisters and brothers who say other wize and if thier are any acceptions in this matter? ,especialy in this case scince the new sister does not have that much knowledge and can easily be swayd from her lak of knowledge.

Going out for dawa

June 12, 2006

Sometimes my brothers in Islam and I go to Africa and many countries to call people to Islam, and they turn to Islam in an amazing manner, and they are even moved by our appearance, let alone when we speak to them. How sound is this action, given that some people say that this is bid’ah and that we should have a great deal of knowledge? What is the ruling on going out for da’wah for the sake of Allaah and freeing up one's time for that, even though some people told me that I should not go out with the people who do da’wah because they are innovators

"Help one another in birr (righteousness, virtue), and taqwa (piety,
fear of Allah, God-consciousness), and do not help one another in sinning
and transgression. And fear and revere Allah; verily, Allah is severe
in punishment." [Quran 5:2]

May Allah increase us in our Adab (Islamic Manners) and make us of those who have
the true and complete sweetness of faith. Ameen.

Allahumma (O Allah), We seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit,
from a heart that is not subdued,
from a supplication that is not answered,
and from a soul that is not satisfied. AMEEN

Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, ash hadu an laa ilaha illa anta,
astaghfiruka wa atoobu ilayka.
(How perfect you are Allah I praise you, I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except you, I seek your forgiveness and turning to repentance to you.)

Allah's Apostle (SalAllahu A'layhe Wassalam)said, "There is a Sadaqa (charitable gift)
to be given for every joint of the human body; and for every day on
which the sun rises there is a reward of a Sadaqa (i.e. charitable
gift) for the one who establishes justice among people."

-Bukhari
